Hopes are high that a bookshop in Crediton can be saved for the community now that 250 people have put up money as shareholders.
Many of them gathered at the shop to celebrate as a Devon author with a world-wide readership came to share his love of science with young readers.

Book lovers in mid Devon are trying to save their local shop by clubbing together to buy it and run it themselves. They're selling shares in their new Community Book Shop scheme to try to keep a much loved independent business going on the high street, as Bob Cruwys reports.
