Emergency repairs at the river mouth in Sidmouth are being demanded, after new landslides along the cliffs. The recent torrential rain has caused large slips on the East beach.
A local councillor fears the threat of tidal flooding in the town has increased as a result of the erosion, and talks will now be held with the Environment Agency.

People are being warned to stay away from cliffs in Sidmouth after huge rock falls at the weekend.
Experts say the recent wet weather is partly to blame for the cliff collapse.
