X Factor runner-up Jahmene Douglas has landed his first singing job since returning to his old employer in Swindon. The former shelf stacker has recorded a version of Silent Night for a special online advert for Asda.

He said he recorded the track as a way of saying thank-you to everyone who voted for him. Jahmene said: "It was an amazing feeling to record my first song in the studio that wasn't for the show. I feel blessed to have had this opportunity and can't wait to see what the future holds."

Swindon's Jahmene Douglas will go head to head with James Arthur in tonight's final of the X Factor after Christopher Maloney was voted out of the competition.

Prior to the contest he patrolled the aisles of Asda in Swindon, marking down products as they neared their best-before limit, but viewers clearly don't think he's reached his sell-by date.
