More than a hundred people gathered in Burnham on Sea to mark the first anniversary of the death of Dylan Cecil.

Dozens of balloons were released last night in memory of the four-year-old, who drowned after falling from the jetty in the Somerset resort. Dylan's parents were among those paying tribute exactly a year after his death.

A memorial fund was set up earlier this year in Dylan's name to help underprivileged children.

The local council has responded to the tragedy by putting more signs up and installing a loud speaker warning system.

Monday (August 19th) marks the first anniversary of the death of a young boy who drowned in the sea at Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset.

4-year-old Dylan Cecil died after falling from the jetty.

A verdict of accidental death was recorded at the inquest, but Sedgemoor District Council has taken action by improving signage in the area and installed a loud-speaker system.

The parents of a four year old boy today had to relive the horrifying moment their son died in front of them while on holiday.

Dylan Cecil drowned after falling from a jetty at Burnham-on-Sea last Summer. His parents leapt into the sea to try and save him, but his body was found four days later.

Today an inquest recorded a verdict of accidental death. and in court Dylan's parents had to listen to the harrowing details of exactly what happened.

Coroner Michael Rose said it was a "tragic misfortune, a nightmare from which they cannot wake."
