Thousands of runners braved the cold to take part in this year's Bath Half Marathon. Among the celebrities joining the line-up was X-Factor host Dermot O'Leary.
But the unsung heroes included a man from Somerset who had run two full marathons immediately before the event. Tanya Mercer reports:
Organisers of the Bath Half Marathon say this year's event raised around £1.5m for charity. 12,000 runners braved the cold yesterday to take part in the 32nd annual trot around the city's streets. The race was won by Ethiopian athlete Tewodros
The first woman across the line at the Bath Half Marathon was Polly Wanjiru. She finished in a time of 70 minutes and 26 seconds.
The Bath Half Marathon has been won by Tewodros Shiferaw in a time of 63 minutes and 26 seconds. The Ethiopian was more than a minute behind the course record of 62' 01" set last year by Kenyan Edwin Kiptoo
