The inquest into the deaths of Victoria Rose and Bill Dowling were opened and adjourned yesterday (Thursday 7th March 2013) pending the outcome of the police investigation.
The couple's bodies were found at their home in Devizes last Saturday. Bill Dowling was a former Wiltshire police officer who retired five years ago.
The cause of death for both deceased was given as gunshot wounds.

58-year-old Victoria Rose was discovered at a house at Moonrakers Estate on Saturday.
The woman found shot dead along with her retired policeman partner has been named locally as Victoria Rose.
The 58-year-old, known as Vicky, was found in the porch of Bill Dowling's home in Devizes on Saturday morning.
She was his long-term partner but lived with her mother and two sons close by.
