ITV has confirmed tonight that the crime drama Broadchurch will return for a second series.
Filmed in West Bay, the programme staring David Tenant has won millions of fans. Touism bosses say the programme has firmly put West Dorset on the map and has given local businesses the boost they need at the moment.

Ahead of the final episode ITV drama Broadchurch, we spoke to writer Chris Chibnall in West Bay and were joined in the studio by actor Joe Sims who plays Nige Carter.

As the ITV series Broadchurch is nearing the end of the series the tourist board Visit Dorset has seen a spike in visitors. During the first episode hits on West Bay's website peaked at 200 a minute as viewers wanted to find out more about the location.
A Dorset town has been treated to a special screening of a new ITV drama.
Broadchurch, which stars David Tennant and Olivia Colman, was mostly shot in Bridport's West Bay.
There was a question and answer session afterwards with the writer, local author Chris Chibnall.
The series is due to be broadcast in a few weeks.

The ITV1 show will be filmed on location in Portishead and Dorset later this year.
