Controversial plans to build a 170 homes on a green field site in East Devon have been thrown out.
There has been widespread opposition to the proposals to build the properties on fields linking the villages of Colyford and Seaton near Sidmouth.

Protesters are celebrating in Sidmouth after it has been announced that plans to build 170 new homes on fields between Seaton and Colyford have been thrown out by East Devon Council.
Protesters are trying to stop East Devon District Council approving plans for 170 new homes on greenbelt land between Seaton and Colyford.
The council is expected to approve the development today, and protesters plan to hold a demonstration outside the meeting. They say there are plenty of brownfield sites available.
