Cornwall has secured a staggering 100 million pounds to help insulate homes and update heating systems. It's claimed to be the biggest scheme of its kind ever in Britain.
The county has the lowest incomes in England and some of the highest levels of fuel poverty. And as John Andrews reports there are new jobs involved as well.
A new £100 million investment to improve energy efficiency across Cornwall has been launched.
Stuart Maogerrison, the British Gas Fuel Poverty Director, tells us a little more about the initiative:
Cornwall is to recieve £100 million investment to improve energy efficiency across the county. The new intitiative between the Council and British Gas will create 140 jobs and aims to cut fuel bills reducing the amount of energy needed in homes.
