RNLI lifeguards in the South Hams have rescued a windsurfer who was washed into a small inaccessible cove after being caught out by difficult conditions. In strong onshore winds and breaking surf the team managed to manoeuvre in amongst the rocks to rescue the man.
The alarm was raised by RNLI lifeguards on patrol at Sedgewell Cove at 4.45pm on Saturday who noticed the windsurfer in the water and unable to return to shore in the strong winds and 4 foot surf. The man was being taken away from the beach and down towards the River Avon.
