Body found in missing pensioner search

A body has been found in the search for missing pensioner Alma Royle, Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed.

The body was discovered in the Pocombe Bridge area of Exeter.

Relatives of Alma Royle have been informed of events and the formal identification process will be completed in due course.


Major search for missing pensioner

A major search will take place in Exeter on Wednesday to try to find an elderly woman who has been missing since Friday.

83-year-old Alma Royle was last seen at the Co-op store in St Thomas.

Detectives have widened the search area to a kilometre from where she disappeared.

The Dartmoor Rescue Group has been helping look for her.

Police investigating the disappearance of Alma Royle in Exeter have released new CCTV images of the pensioner.

These images show the 83 year old visiting the nearby Co-op store at different times on Friday.

Exeter woman was 'dazed and confused' when last seen

Police say Alma Royale was last seen near her home on Heron Road in Exeter, several times on Friday morning and afternoon. She wore two outfits that day - a red long-sleeved top with a black skirt and black shoes.

She then put on a green duffle coat, with brown boots and the same black skirt. The last time she was seen, police think she was heading towards Cowick Street or the St Thomas area. She looked 'dazed and confused'.

Police are concerned for the welfare of 83 year-old Alma Royle who has been reported missing from the St Thomas area of Exeter. She was last seen at her home on Heron Road on Friday afternoon (26 July).

Devon and Cornwall Police would like anyone who thinks they may have seen Alma to contact them on 101.
