Police have named the motorcyclist who died following a collision with a car in Paignton on Sunday morning as 19 year old Gregory Taylor, known locally as Greg, from Buckfastleigh.

Teenage motorcyclist dies after Paignton crash

A teenage motorcyclist has died after a collision with a car in Paignton.

It happened at around 2am this morning on King's Ash Road. The 19-year-old man from Buckfast was treated at the scene but later died at Torbay hospital. A 37 year old man from Paignton has been arrested.

The road remains closed while investigations by the serious collisions unit continue. A post mortem will be conducted in the next few days.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed any incidents involving a red VW Golf and a motorcycle near Tweenaway Cross on either the Totnes Road or King's Ash Road between 1am and 2am to contact 101 quoting log : 141 04/08/13.
