A woman is tonight starting a three-year jail sentence for driving her car at a kebab shop in Bristol, leaving four people injured, one of them seriously. Navlet Anderson claimed she had got a flip flop trapped beneath the accelerator, causing her to lurch forward.
But today a jury rejected her defence, with the judge telling her 'it was a matter of fortune the consequences were not more serious'.
Avon and Somerset Police have released this photo of Navlet Anderson, who has been jailed for three years for dangerous driving.
The 50 year old was found not guilty of a second charge of intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was disqualified from driving for 5 years.
