The amount of crime in Devon and Cornwall has fallen according to official figures out this morning.

Crime figures falling in Devon and Somerset

Devon and Cornwall Police and the Force's Crime Commissioner are at loggerheads over new crime statistics.

The latest figures show crime is down in the two counties over the last year which is being welcomed by police.

But Devon and Cornwall has slipped four places in the overall league table of safe areas to live which concerns the Police and Crime Commissioner, Tony Hogg.

He's has been talking to to ITV News West Country's Ian Axton.

Crime falls in Devon and Cornwall

The amount of crime in Devon and Cornwall has fallen according to official figures out this morning.

The Office for National Statistics says the level of reported crime to June has dropped by 6% over the past year.

But the force says up to last Sunday the current figure is not quite as good and is a 4% drop because of a busy summer season.
