The names of three people who died in two crashes on the same controversial stretch of road near Gloucester on Monday have been been revealed.
54 year old Brian Burnham from Cheltenham, was the car driver who was killed in a collision with a lorry on the A417 Crickley Hill in the early hours of Monday morning.
Around eight hours later 84 year old car driver Valerie Fitzgerald from Marlborough, and her passenger Frances Verity, who was 91 and from Purton in Wiltshire, both died after crashing with a lorry at the Birdlip turn-off on the A417.
Gloucestershire Police has confirmed the two women who died following a collision on the A417 yesterday morning were an 84-year-old woman from Great Bedwyn in Marlborough and a 91-year-old woman from Purton in Wiltshire.
Formal identification has not yet taken place.
There were two separate accidents within a mile of each other yesterday morning between Gloucester and Cirencester. The road was closed for most of the day.

Crickley Hill had been closed from 3.10am until around 1pm following a collision in which a 54-year-old Cheltenham man died.
The A417 was later closed between the Air Balloon roundabout and the Cowley roundabout following a second fatal collision at 11.35am. Two women were pronounced dead at the scene.
Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses to either collision to get in touch.
