An amateur fossil-hunter from Chippenham in Wiltshire has found an ichthyosaur on the Dorset coast. The almost complete skeleton was revealed by storms at Black Ven near Charmouth on Boxing Day.

It was removed in an 8 hour operation, just before another storm was due to hit. The finder, Alan Saxon, says he hopes it will end up on display.
