The Devon-based Barn Owl Trust is starting a national campaign against the use of super-strength rat poison. Birds are dying after eating mice and voles which have also been killed by the poison.
The Trust is asking the minister responsible to ban the use of high strength anti-coagulent rodenticides unless all other methods of pest control have failed. They say such poisons have contributed to a 'catastrophic' decline in barn owl numbers.
