Shocking pictures have been released of the moment a woman was attacked during a robbery at an antiques shop in Devon.

Police hope the CCTV will lead to the identification of the man who carried out the assault in Honiton.

He stole thousands of pounds worth of rings and other valuables from Banwell Antiques on the High Street. Some viewers might find the following pictures upsetting.

Police release CCTV footage of Honiton Robbery

Police have revealed dramatic CCTV footage of a man they would like to trace, after a woman was attacked during a raid at a jewellers in Honiton.

The man entered Banwell Antiques at around 9am on the 22nd of March and grabbed the female staff member from behind and tied her up.

More than three hundred pieces of jewellery were stolen Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police on 101 quoting log number 467.

Although she wasn't physically injured, she was left very shaken by the incident and is now being supported by officers and her family. Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man in these images.

He was wearing a blue coat, blue denim jeans, black trainers,

beige coloured flat cap and was carrying a blue rucksack and black holdall bag.

Police are investigating a robbery at a jewellers shop in Honiton.

A lone man attacked a female worker at Banwell Antiques in the High Street as she opened the store at 9am this morning.

The suspect got away with more than 300 rings, pendants and earrings.

He's described as white, of slim build, heavily unshaven, with short dark hair, and aged between 30 – 50 years. He was wearing a blue coat, blue denim jeans, black trainers, a beige coloured flat cap and was carrying a blue rucksack.

The victim is shaken but unhurt.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anyone in the vicinity of the High Street and the junction of Silver Street in Honiton around 9am to come forward, either by contacting police on 101, or to give anonymous information contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
