Exeter City were the region's only winners.

It's been the final day of the football league season. Yeovil Town's last game in the Championship ended with a heavy 4-1 defeat to Middlesbrough at Huish Park. James Hayter scored the Glovers' goal.

In League Two, Exeter City won 2-0 at Hartlepool. Jimmy Keohane and David Wheeler scored the goals for the Grecians in the first half.

Plymouth Argyle drew 3-3 at Portsmouth. Danny Hollands hit a hat-trick for Pompey, but Argyle earned a share of the points thanks to Reuben Reid and Conor Hourihane's double. The captain's second goal came in the 89th minute.

And Torquay United's final game in the Football League before relegation to the Conference has ended with a disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Wycombe. The Gulls were also reduced to ten men when Anthony O'Connor was sent off for two bookings early in the second half.

Albion chuck away 11-0 half-time lead to lose

There's no game for the Exeter Chiefs this weekend. But in the final round of Championship matches, Plymouth Albion threw away an 11-0 half-time lead to lose 16-11 at Moseley.

Albion were on course to leapfrog their opponents in the table, but defeat means they finish the season in 8th place.

And the Cornish Pirates lost 36-3 at Leeds last night. The Pirates finish sixth.

Torquay United relegated to Conference despite win

Torquay United have been relegated to the Conference after just five seasons back in the Football League.

Chris Hargreaves' men won 3-1 at Mansfield this afternoon, but results elsewhere mean Torquay are down with one game left to play.

Ashley Yeoman, Shaquile Coulthirst and an own goal secured the three points for the Gulls.

Meanwhile, Exeter City are safe from relegation after beating league leaders Scunthorpe at St James Park.

Craig Woodman's 25-yard strike into the top corner gave the Grecians the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Jimmy Keohane doubled the advantage early in the second half.

Another 'must win' game for Torquay United

Torquay and Northampton currently occupy the two relegation places.

With just two games left to play of the football season, it's another huge weekend for two of Devon's teams.

Bottom-of-the-table Torquay United travel to Mansfield knowing they need another win and their relegation rivals to slip up.

It's less bleak for Exeter City - just two points above the drop zone and they host Scunthorpe, who'll clinch the league title with a win. But the last team to beat Scunthorpe was Exeter, way back in October.
