Newspaper produces Sunday edition

One of the region's papers launched it's first ever Sunday edition today in an effort to attract new readers.

The Western Morning News is bucking the trend of newspapers cutting their number of publications. It's become only the second regional newspaper in the country to produce a Sunday paper.

As many local newspapers are being reduced to weekly editions, one of the region's main daily newspaper is going against trend by launching a Sunday edition.

The Western Morning News will produce its first issue this weekend, 22 June .

The editor says weekday sales are going down everywhere because busy people don't have a chance to read in the morning but they like to catch up at weekends. John Andrews reports.
