Detectives investigating the death of a teenage boy in Kingsbridge are returning to the town tonight to appeal for information.

17-year-old Alex Peguero Sosa lived in the area. He was was found with fatal injuries at a bus stop in Prince of Wales Road in the early hours of last Sunday morning.

Officers are hoping to find out more tonight about what happened.

A 42-year-old man from Salcombe has been charged with murder and remains in custody.

Hundreds turn out to remember teenager

Hundreds turned out for a vigil to honour Kingsbridge schoolboy Alex Peguero Sosa who was killed on Sunday.

Many came from the 17-year-old's school, and from his home village of Aveton Gifford. Some came to release balloons over Plymouth Sound from as far away as Gloucestershire where he went to boarding school on a football scholarship.

Friends and relatives of a teenager killed in Kingsbridge on Sunday have gathered on Plymouth Hoe to remember him.

Alex Peguero Sosa died at a taxi rank in the early hours of Sunday morning. A 42-year-old man has been charged with his murder.

Man charged with murder of teenager in Kingsbridge

A 42-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Alex Peguero Sosa in Kingsbridge at the weekend.

Lee Dent of East Portlemouth near Salcombe remains in custody at Torquay police station and is due to appear before Torquay Magistrates’ Court in the morning.

A 22-year-old Kingsbridge man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice has been released on police bail until 28th July. pending further enquiries.

Friends of 17 year old Alex Peguero Sosa the Kingsbridge Community College student who died following an incident in Prince of Wales Road having been paying tribute to him.

Flowers and written tributes have been left at the scene.

Police say that Alex sustained a serious wound to the neck which may have been caused by glass, possibly a bottle.

A 22-year-old man from Kingsbridge was arrested at 6.30pm yesterday (6 July) on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice. He remains in custody at Torquay police station.
