While the majority of commemorations to mark the start of the war are being held today - a number of events have already taken place. One of the largest took place at the Lost Gardens of Heligan - where more than 5,000 people - helped remember the group of gardeners who went off to fight in 1914. John Andrews has the below report:
Wildworks Theatre are behind a 12 hour live theatre event taking place at the Lost Gardens of Heligan this afternoon. Bill Mitchell is from the production company and says the audience will be in the middle of the performance:
A 12 hour live theatre event commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the First World War is being held at Cornwall's Lost Gardens of Heligan. The Day our World Changed tells the stories of local men who gave their lives. The production has been put together by theatre company Wildworks and will involve hundreds of actors recreating scenes from 1914 in Mevagissey and Heligan.
