A man's been killed after his car ploughed into a stationary trailer in Cornwall.
The man was the only occupant of the car which struck the trailer on the A38 near the Carkeel roundabout at Saltash, east Cornwall, on Saturday morning.
He was pronounced dead at Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital.
It's the second fatal accident in the region in two days after a 58 year old local cyclist was killed on the A38 at Lee Mill, Devon, on Friday morning. He was hit by a lorry.
A stretch of the A38 at Saltash is expected to be closed for much of the day.
A stretch of the A38 in South East Cornwall is expected to remain closed all day after a serious accident.
The crash happened between the Carkeel Roundabout and Liskeard Road, in Saltash.
A lorry is understood to have been involved in the accident, which happened shortly before 7.30am today. One person has been taken to hospital.
Diversions are in place and drivers are being asked to use the A388 between Carkeel and Stoketon Cross.
The A38 is currently closed in both directions at Carkeel. Diversions are in place and long delays are expected.
It's due to a serious accident involving a car and a lorry. Police are directing traffic.
