The A30 westbound in Devon is closed after a serious accident early today and is likely to remain so until this afternoon.
It is shut between Cheriton Bishop Road (Woodleigh Junction) and A382 (Whiddon Down / Merrymeet Junction) after a lorry overturned. Police have finished investigating the scene but, as the truck will need unloading before it can be removed, it will be some time before the road can re-open.

The A30 is closed in both directions between the A377 (Alphington Junction) and Exminster due to a serious police incident. Emergency services are on the scene.
The M5 Southbound exit slip road is also closed at J31 A30 as police deal with the situation.
One person has been killed in a crash involving a couple on a motorbike on the A30 in Devon. It happened on the northbound carriageway between Stowford Cross and Sourton Services. The second person suffered serious injuries.
In a separate crash, a male motorcyclist was seriously injured on the A30 heading towards Exeter near the junction with the A38. He was riding a yellow Triumph Daytona when he hit the central reservation. He's been taken to Derriford Hospital.
The A30 Eastbound is closed at Exeter with delays due to an accident involving a motorcycle. It happened on the looping slip road known locally as Purchase Hill. Also affecting traffic leaving the M5 southbound at J31. Police advise that the road is likely to remain closed for several hours.
