11 year old girl hit by train in Camborne

An eleven year old girl was hit by a train yesterday evening after falling onto the tracks at Camborne railway station.

She was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital with minor injuries.

The British Transport Police are investigating but officers are currently treating this incident as an accident.

Toddler dies in road accident

A toddler's been killed after being hit by a van in Tintagel.

The accident happened at lunchtime on Moleworth Street.

She was taken to Derriford Hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.

The main road in Tintagel is closed while police collision investigators carry out enquiries.

Motorists are being advised there will be disruption for a considerable time.


Travel: A303 - Devon - Upottery - serious accident

There are delays of up to 20 minutes on the A303 in in both directions between A30 (Upottery) and A358 / B3168 Station Road (Southfields Roundabout, Ilminster).

The road is closed due to a serious accident. Two vehicles were involved.

Air ambulance attended the scene. One person was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. Police say the person is seriously injured.

Multi-vehicle accident in Plymouth

At least one person has been seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the A38 in Plymouth. It happend on the Exeter bound carriageway of the A38 between Manadon and Marsh Mills. Police say there were freezing conditions in the area at the time.

A man is being treated at Derriford Hospital and is said to be in a critical condition.

There were a total of five collisions, involving ten vehicles. The road is expected to be closed until 1300 hours.
