Airport future to be discussed by councillors in Plymouth

The future of Plymouth City Airport will be discussed by the city council today.

More than 37,000 people have signed a petition calling for the airport to be run by the state. It closed last December, despite opposition. Developers want to build houses, shops and flats on the 113 acre site.

The terminal was closed last December because of a lack of business. The auction is opposed by campaigners who had hoped to see the airport re-opened.
