A pair of blue tits have picked an unusual "des res". A pub ashtray may not seem the most salubrious of choices but it is now home to seven fledglings. Richard Lawrence managed to film them in their hideaway at the Royal Oak in Nadderwater near Exeter.
A nature lover has a taken a childhood occupation to new lengths to create bird sculptures. Tom Poulsom, who's 34 and from Bristol, has created these figures of Britain's best loved birds entirely from Lego.
The Princess Royal will be at Newent in Gloucestershire later to mark the 45th anniversary of the International Birds of Prey Centre. It will one of several visits Princess Anne has made to the centre over the years as a patron of the National Birds of Prey Trust.
