Police stop illegal raves in Devon

Police in Devon say they've stopped two illegal raves going ahead. Members of the public alerted them to two events being set up at Woodbury Common in East Devon.

People were also turned away as a second rave was being set up at Fernworthy Reservoir near Chagford. Police seized sound equipment as part of Operation Derig which will continue over the holiday weekend.

Ram raiders used a stolen Land Rover to remove a cash machine from a shop on Dartmoor only to find that it was almost empty. The Spar Shop in Chagford was badly damaged in the early morning raid yesterday.

The red P-reg Land Rover - which had been stolen from Moretonhampstead - was found abandoned in nearby farm buildings. Police say the cash machine held 'minimal' amounts of money. They're hunting three people in connection with the raid
