The last two Comet stores left in the region close tonight as another familiar name disappears from the High Street.
The superstores in Plymouth and Exeter employed dozens of people who are being made redundant a week before Christmas. Jonathan Gibson reports.
More than a hundred jobs have been lost in the region as Premier Foods and Comet close premises. Staff at the electrical retailer in Barnstaple and Yeovil have today been dismantling the shop units after redundancies were announced yesterday.
The Comet distribution centre in Exeter has also closed. Meanwhile Premier Foods is also shutting its Hovis bread site in Plymouth. Seth Conway's report here.
