A survey analysed by professors at the University of the West of England has found that 70% of adults support an introduction of a 20 mile per hour speed limit on busy streets.
Although experts warn the speed limits will only become effective once they are properly enforced.
The main reasons for people supporting a change include road safety and child safety, as well as creating a more pleasant environment to live in.
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary re-opens its hospital today, 17 October, following a £50,000 renovation.
The centre for injured pups, based in the village of Gweek, will also be celebrating its 60th anniversary next year.
As Cornwall's only seal rescue centre, the sanctuary cares for more than 50 pups every season.
The new facilities mean more injured pups can be cared for.
A new parliamentary constituency, crossing the Devon and Cornwall border, has been suggested again by boundary commission.
It would combine Bideford, Launceston and Bude and is part of plans to cut the number of MPs.
The revised proposal was published today, 17 October, setting out new constituencies in the South West.
Other constituencies also have minor changes proposed.
The plans are now out for consultation and can be accessed in the Boundaries Commission England 2018 website here.
The public have until 11 December to give feedback on the proposals.
