A swimming pool and health centre at a beachside hotel which was badly damaged by fire is to close next week. The Falmouth Beach Hotel at Gyllyngvase was wrecked in the blaze last April.

The Beach Club leisure facility was not affected. It's being shut from next Thursday after the owner decided to retire and sell the entire site. The official cause of the fire has not been determined.

The owners of the Falmouth Beach Hotel, which was destroyed by fire last year, are considering selling the site.

Agents for the owners say it is one of a number of options being considered. The hotel was demolished after the fire last April.

A hotel that's been closed since a major fire in April is re-opening its Beach Club today.

The pool and leisure complex at the Falmouth Beach Hotel was mostly undamaged but had to stay shut until now for health and safety reasons.

No parking is available on site because of the ongoing building work.
