Appeal to help trace missing Bristol woman

Anna was last seen at her work placement in Southmead

Police are appealing for help to find a missing 27-year-old from Bristol who has not been seen since her work placement.

Anna Lewis, who lives in Fishponds, was last seen in Southmead on April 14.

She is of medium build, with long dark hair.

Her disappearance is out of character so we’re growing increasingly concerned for her well-being.

Police want to speak to a man about the theft of a charity donation box from a Domino's Pizza in Bristol.

A man ordered two pizzas, then stole a charity box from the counter of the pizza shop in the Fishponds area of the city last month.

Staff ran after him but he managed to escape.

Anyone with information should call PC Lydia Richards at Trinity Road police station via 101.

Man who carried out 'horrific' machete attack jailed

A man who left another man permanently disabled after attacking him with a machete has been jailed for 14 years at Bristol Crown Court.

Nelo Smith, 24, from Fishponds, was convicted of GBH for what the police have called a 'horrific' attack on a 36-year-old man, in a dispute over a drug deal in December.

The victim lost part of one hand and suffered severe injuries to his other hand and leg, spending 16 hours in emergency surgery and losing three points of blood.

Appeal to taxi drivers for information following bomb hoax

Police are appealing for taxi drivers for their assistance into an investigation into a bomb hoax in Fishponds.

Following the incident on Cassell Road, Police want to talk to taxi drivers who dropped off or picked up any passengers in the Bristol area who smelt of petrol or who may have been carrying a petrol canister.

They are specifically interested in drivers who dropped off or picked up passengers in the following areas:

  • The Blackhorse Road area of Downend/Emersons Green
  • Cassell Road
  • The City Road area of St Pauls, Bristol

If any taxi drivers think they can help, I would urge them to call South Gloucestershire CID as soon as possible. A 42-year-old man arrested on suspicion of a bomb hoax (placing with intent) has been released on bail while our enquiries continue.
