It's been a star studded evening of celebrations as the Olympic torch made its way to Taunton. Black Eyed Peas star, Will.i.am, was named as a last minute torchbearer as thousands looked on. He was joined by Somerset Cricket celebrity Marcus Trescothick and other local heros.

Torchbearer with Motor Neurone Disease carries flame

John Saunders is a torchbearer in Folly Gate near Okehampton.

He has Motor Neurone Disease but is determined to make the most of his remaning life and has worked actively with the Motor Neurone Disease Association, not just to raise awareness but also to offer help and encouragement to other sufferers.
