Newton Abbot MP to lead debate on lifesaving

MPs are due to discuss the teaching of life-saving skills in schools this morning. The debate is being led by the MP for Newton Abbot, Anne Marie Morris, who is calling for lessons to be made compulsory.

She says it's common sense that as many people as possible should be able to save somebody's life in an emergency. A campaign by the British Heart Foundation already has widespread backing.

MPs are due to discuss the teaching of life-saving skills in schools this morning. The debate is being backed by Justin Tomlinson, the MP for South Swindon, who is calling for lessons to be made compulsory.

He says that the move would undoubtedly save lives in the future. A campaign by the British Heart Foundation already has widespread backing.
