Bristol charity: more needs to be done to combat student fly-tipping

A charity in Bristol says more needs to be done to stop students leaving large amounts of rubbish in the streets when they leave their student accommodation in the summer.

The organisation Keep Bristol Tidy tweeted a series of photographs last week. They say it's an annual problem.

Hundreds expected to help rid Westcountry beaches of litter

Hundreds of volunteer litter-pickers will be helping to clean up the region's beaches this weekend. It's an event organised by the Marine Conservation Society. More than 100 countries and regions worldwide are taking part.

The data collected will help keep up pressure on governments to act to reduce the amount of rubbish on beaches.
