The Liberal Democrats hold Cheltenham Town Council gaining five seats. They now have 29 out of 40 seats despite losing the Parliamentary seat.

The Conservatives won 3 seats, People Against Bureaucracy Group won 1 seat and the Independent party won 1 seat.

Count reveals fiercely competitive Avon & Somerset PCC seat

The position for Avon & Somerset's Police & Crime Commissioner is being fiercely contested - as the count enters its final stages.

Conservative candidate Mark West has taken the most votes from West Somerset, but current Police & Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens has won in Taunton Dean.

Labour candidate Kerry Barker currently lies in third.

23% turnout to vote in Devon & Cornwall PCC election

The turnout for the Devon & Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner election is 23% with over 294,000 casting their vote.

Listed in alphabetical order, here are the people standing for election as Police and Crime Commissioner for the area is:

  • Richard Younger-Ross, Liberal Democrat
