Mr Channer will appear at Truro Magistrates Court this morning.
Man arrested in Nottingham over Helston murder
A 54 year old man is being questioned by Devon and Cornwall Police in connection with the death of a Helston man. He was arrested in the Nottingham area on Tuesday night on suspicion of murder.
The body of 72 year old Colin Payne was found at flats in Sanctuary Lane on Sunday and forensic officers are continuing to examine the scene.
Detectives still want to hear from anyone who may have seen Mr Payne between 31 May and 17 June.
Murder investigation in Helston
A murder investigation is underway after the body of an elderly man was found at an address in Helston. The body's been formally identified as 72-year-old Colin Payne. His family has been informed. Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Payne since the end of May.

A teenager has appeared at Truro Crown Court charged with the murder of a 91-year-old man from Cornwall. Tom Lang died from multiple fractures in hospital after an incident at his home in Launceston in April.
19 year old Stephen Lang, who is also from Launceston, has been remanded in custody to appear again on 21 September.

Woman from Liskeard charged with murder
A 48 year old woman from Darite near Liskeard is due before magistrates charged with murder. It follows the death of a 48 year old man from Darite on Sunday. He had a serious chest wound and was airlifted to hospital but did not survive.
Sandra Clinch will appear at Bodmin Magistrates Court this morning.
