Men arrested after fatal Gloucester stabbing released without charge

Two men arrested in connection with the murder of a 49-year-old man in Gloucester have been released without charge.

The men aged 30 and 42 were arrested and questioned by police after a 49 year old man was killed in Gloucester on Friday night (7/10).

Officers were called by the ambulance service to Marian Court flats in Archdeacon Street shortly before 4.50pm.

The man had been stabbed in the leg and later died from his injuries.

Detectives investigating the murder are continuing to pursue a number of inquiries to track down the person responsible.

Local officers are still carrying out patrols in and around Archdeacon Street and anyone with concerns or information is urged to speak to police or Crimestoppers.

Murder investigation after body found in Weymouth

Detectives have begun a murder investigation following the discovery of a body at an address in Weymouth. A man and a woman having been arrested.

At around 8am this morning (Nov 8) police discovered the body of a man in a flat along Bath Street in the town centre.

The victim has not yet been identified. Two men and one woman were also injured and are receiving treatment for their injuries.

A cordon has been put in place while crime scene investigators examine the property and officers are also carrying out house-to-house enquiries.

Bath Street is currently closed and Commercial Road is closed between Wesley Street and Bath Street.

Following the discovery of a man’s body and a number of injured people, Dorset Police has launched a murder investigation.

Enquiries are now underway to establish exactly what happened earlier this morning.

I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the Bath Street area this morning to contact us as soon as possible.
