Procession for new village centre

Hundreds of people have turned out for the opening of a £35 million attraction in one of Cornwall's poorest areas. The Big Lottery Funded project has been designed to give people a village centre they can be proud of.

Kathy Wardle reports on how school children, musicians and local residents took part in a procession to launch 'Heartlands' in Pool near Redruth.

A new 35 million pound community project opens in West Cornwall today. The Heartlands project has turned disused mining land into a heritage themed community space. It'll offer artists workshops a play area, performace spaces and a cafe.
