Armed robbery at Plymstock garage

Police are looking for a man armed with a knife who robbed a service station in Plymstock.

He went into the Morley Service Station on Billacombe Road around 5pm yesterday (Tuesday 4 November), threatened a member of staff and stole money from the till. The cashier was left extremely shaken.

The man was wearing a balaclava and a red and grey raincoat with the hood over his head.

Fatal collision in Plymouth car park

An elderly woman has died after a collision in a car park in Plymouth yesterday evening.

A 77 year old pedestrian from the Plymstock area was involved in a serious collision in the car park at the rear of The University College of St Mark and St John at around 18:40. She died from her injuries.

The male driver of the Vauxhall Corsa involved in the incident was uninjured. A section of the car park was closed whilst Police forensic collision investigators carried out a detailed examination of the scene.

The car park was busy at the time with several teams playing hockey on the adjacent pitches. Police are appealing for any witness who may have seen what happened to contact them on 101 quoting log 708 17/10/14.

Men rescued from Plymstock cliff top

Three men have been rescued by fire crews after becoming trapped on a cliff top in Bovisand Bay.

Emergency services from the Greenbank and Plymstock areas came to assist in the rescue and a helicopter from Chivenor was also called out.

The men were rescued from the cliff in the early hours of this morning.

One of the men suffered a minor injury to their leg, which was dealt with by the Ambulance Service.

Body found in van parked in Plymstock

The body of a man has been found in the back of a van parked on Radford Park Road in Plymstock. Police were called out by ambulance staff just after 4pm yesterday.

The death is being treated as unexplained. Officers are waiting for the results of a post mortem examination.

At this time there is no evidence of any third party involvement, although polce enquiries are still ongoing.

The man is thought to be local and in his mid-twenties. His family have been informed.
