More than 100 homes are without power this morning in parts of Devon and Cornwall, after winds gusting upto 70 miles an hour brought down power cables. Overnight several thousand people were affected, but engineers say most homes should be reconnected later this morning.
A plan for a hydro electric power station in Somerset has been given the go-ahead by the Exmoor National Park Authority. It'll be built in Dulverton - which used to have one until it fell into disrepair after the Second World War.
Now the rising price of power has made the scheme feasible again. Here's our Somerset correspondent, David Woodland.
