Police in Newquay name man

Police have named the man who died in Newquay over the weekend after being found outside a nightclub. He was local man 49-year-old Michael Kearns.

The investigation into his death is being conducted by the Force Major Crime Investigation Team

We are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident. I would like to reassure the public that the police are treating this death as an isolated incident.

Newquay nightclub death 'not murder'

Police say the death of a man at a Newquay nightspot is no longer being treated as a murder inquiry. The 49 year-old man was found unconscious outside Sailors nightclub in the early hours of yesterday. He was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Four men who were arrested have been released on police bail until July. Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage as part of efforts to determine what happened.


Murder in Newquay - four men arrested

Police in Newquay are carrying out a murder investigation after a man died following an incident at Sailors nightclub. Officers were called to the club in the early hours of this morning where they found the 49 year-old.

He was taken to Treliske Hospital where he later died. Four men have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Fore Street in Newquay remains closed while inquiries continue.
