The Somerset Rebels have missed out on a speedway double in a nail biting climax tonight.
The Rebels were hoping to add the Premier League title to last week's Cup final victory, but a five point advantage going into tonight's play-off final away leg wasn't enough.
They lost to the Scunthorpe Scorpions 92-91 on aggregate.
Speedway's Somerset Rebels won the first leg of their Premier League play-off final by a tight margin.
They beat Scunthorpe Scorpions 49-44 at the Oaktree Arena and will now take their five point lead with them for the second leg at Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday.
If they win, it will be their second trophy of the season - last night they won the Premier League Cup.
