Two 18-year-old men have been arrested after a serious assault and robbery in Swindon during the early hours of Friday.
Police say a 29-year-old man was walking home through the Old Town area after a night out when the incident took place in Bath Road around 2.45am.
Officers say the victim was approached by two men who offered him a cigarette. An altercation then took place in which the victim was struck to the face while trying to call police. His mobile phone was stolen during the assault.
Police are appealing for witnesses. They say both men who were arrested are from Swindon and remain in custody for questioning.

A CCTV image has been released of a man police would like to speak to following a robbery in Swindon.
The incident occurred between 6.20am and 6.30am on New Year's Day and officers have been carrying out enquiries to locate CCTV footage related to the offence.
A 40-year-old taxi driver was dropping off three men outside the Victoria pub on Victoria Road, Old Town, when they sprayed alcohol in his face before one of the men threatened him.
The other two men then stole approximately £60 cash from the driver's bag.
This was understandably a frightening experience for the taxi driver - we've been carrying out extensive enquiries in relation to this incident to try and identify those responsible.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Little Faringdon, Oxfordshire.
At around 11.35am on Thursday 25th January, a blue Mercedes car and a Triumph motorcycle were involved in a collision on the A361.
The road was closed while emergency services attended however the rider of the motorcycle, a 75-year-old man from the Swindon area, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene and an investigation is ongoing in to the circumstances of the collision.
I would like to appeal for anyone who saw the collision which occurred on the A361 at Little Faringdon between Burford and Lechlade in which a man sadly died.

The leader of Swindon Borough Council has tweeted his disapproval of the schools that closed in Wiltshire this week after heavy snowfall.
