Trade Union Unison are to lobby Devon County Council's scrutiny meeting today to oppose the council's decision to close 20 residential homes.
The Devon branch-who represent the county's public service workers claim the decision will leave hundreds of vulnerable adults with an uncertain future and will see over 1,000 council employees lose their jobs.
Unions representing ambulance staff in the region say they're disappointed the contract to provide non emergency patient transport has been awarded to a private company.
From October, NSL will take responsibility for non emergency patient transport in Somerset, Cornwall and most of Devon. The new contract will run seven days a week instead of five, but UNISON says it's worried:
