Students join staff to protest pensions at universities across the region

Students are joining University of Bath staff on campus to protest over plans to change lecturers' pensions.

A week long strike continues at both Bristol and Bath Universities after the University and College Union rejected the latest proposal to resolve the dispute were rejected.

The union plans a further fortnight's action to target at exams and assessment.

Marjon becomes a University

University College Plymouth St Mark and St John is set to become a University, in what is the biggest expansion of higher education for 20 years.

The college, known as Marjon, was founded more than 170 years ago. It will start operating under the new name next autumn, when it will also be celebrating 40 years in Plymouth
