Fuel Strike Latest

Talks to try to resolve the fuel dispute which led to panic buying at pumps last week will begin later today. The conciliation service Acas will host the talks between the union Unite, which represents tanker drivers and fuel companies.

Will panic-buying force fuel prices up?

Numerous filling stations in our region have reported running out of diesel and unleaded because of people panic-buying fuel, following the threat of a tanker drivers' strike. Yesterday the Government called on people to fill up their tanks in preparation.
