An Exeter headteacher, who was being paid more than £150,000 in total per year, has resigned. Steve Maddern hit the headlines after it was revealed he enjoyed huge pay rises, supported by governors at West Exe Technology College.
His total paypacket was almost three times more than the national average headteacher's pay.
