GOVERNORS: Pay revelation 'damaging' for school
Exeter headteacher Steve Maddern has resigned with immediate effect. It comes after it was revealed Mr Maddern was being paid more than £150,000 a year. Governors at West Exe Technology College described the last two months as 'a difficult period' for those connected with the school.
In a letter to parents of children at the school Peter Scott, Vice Chair of Governors, said the situation had damaged the school's reputation.
