The eyes of the world were fixed on Plymouth last night when the city hosted one of the first official Olympic Games events.
Crowds of around 40,000 people flocked to the Hoe to see the Olympic flame arrive. It was used to light a special cauldron marking the culmination of the day's festivities.
As the Olympic torch made its way to Taunton, Will.i.am, was named as a last minute torchbearer as thousands looked on.
Torchbearers have been cashing in on their torches and selling them for thousands of pounds. Sophia Cowburn's bid has exceeded £60,000.
