Plymouth hosts Olympic torch event
The eyes of the world were fixed on Plymouth last night when the city hosted one of the first official Olympic Games events.
Crowds of around 40,000 people flocked to the Hoe to see the Olympic flame arrive. It was used to light a special cauldron marking the culmination of the day's festivities.
