Isles of Scilly air crash interview

Flights from the Isles of Scilly to the mainland were delayed this afternoon after a light aircraft overshot the runway.

St Mary's Airport was shut for a time when the plane carrying four people went through a hedge and ended up in a field. No-one was injured. One of those who saw the crash was Adam Smith who spoke to us over the phone:

Plane Crashes on Isles of Scilly

Plane has overshot the runway at St Mary's Airport on the Isles of Scilly. Fire and ambulance crews are currently attending the scene and the airport is currently closed. There are no reports of any injuries.
